ALEXANDER SCHARF – JASON
25/03 – 22/04/2021
"...in the garden over there sunflowers only grow briefly..." (The Neighbor's Daughter)
The exhibition "JASON" unfolds the mysterious narrative of an unspoken love. In the environment of a TikTok backdrop (teenage children's room) the obsession of Jason develops. The tragic masked youth falls in love with the neighbor's daughter, the milk-white nymph Galateia. The TikTok mirror begins to shine and the youngster's dreams turn into an invisible tribune for experiencing his aversions. The stalker-stan-crush dilemma begins ("Jason knows everything from jeans brand to favorite chocolate"). Love & pink dream worlds become hate & violent fantasies. An allegory about cultivated protective shells and the progressive concealment of emotions emerges. A reaction to the unpredictability of love and a song about the cruelty of a broken heart.
